Geoffrey was brought up on a stud farm in Ireland, worked at Moyglare Stud, as a second head lad for NH trainer Jennie Pitman, and as head lad for Charles Egerton. In 2000 he started a breaking and pre-training yard before taking out a full licence to train in 2011.
Sally comes from a farming family in the Cotswolds and rode in point-to-points and as an amateur rider. She and Geoffrey met when working for Charles Egerton. Sally now edits International Thoroughbred magazine, works on the sales day live blog for Tattersalls and Tattersalls Ireland and still rides out when she can with Geoffrey.
Debbie is in charge of communications and photography, all the lovely pictures on the website were taken by Debbie. She also works as photographer for the Arabian Racing Organisation, does photography work for International Thoroughbred magazine, is an accomplished sculptor and edits a magazine on Arabian racing.
Lauren joined Geoffrey Deacon Training in 2016 having previously worked for Dominic Ffrench-Davies. She lives with her family in Pangbourne and drives over each day. She has ridden all her life and has recently taken on The Stinging Bee as a retraining project.
Natalie joined the yard this autumn as a freelance rider, having previously worked in livery and dressage yards. She also spent two years working at a small animal veterinary practice as a veterinary nurse assistant. She has her own horse, an Irish sport horse called 'Solo' who she events at a low level. This is Natalie's first job in racing and she is enjoying the challenge of learning a new discipline.
Piotr has worked with Geoffrey for nearly ten years, joining him when he ran the pre-training yard. Piotr, who hails from Poland, does all the yard work, mucking out and heavy lifting. He is an invaluable and much loved member of the team.
