Picket Line wins at Windsor, pleasing debut for Vixen

Posted 04-May-2017 - By Hamilton Stables

Under a cool ride by apprentice Cameron Noble, Picket Line picked up a third career victory when taking the Toteplacepot Racing's Favourite Bet Apprentice Training Series Handicap Stakes (Part of the Racing Excellence Initiative) on Bank Holiday Monday.

It was a pleasing performance and one pinpointed as likely by Geoffrey a full week before the race  -the horse being in such good form at home. It means that, all being well, Picket Line has a good chance of getting a run in a 0-80 handicap at Ascot on Victoria Cup day.

Vixen out in a very pleasing performance on her debut at Salisbury. She did not put a foot out of place - apart from jumping the stalls a little awkwardly - settling in and finding her feet midway through the race.  She got caught a little for pace through inexperience and the race developed into two halves - one with those who had before and had racing experience and one with those who were having first starts.  She went clear of her fellow first-timers, galloping straight and true to the line.

As you can see, even with her cooler on, she is a very pretty and athletic filly.
